4th July 2004: Delayed due to bad weather

< Previous Entry | Next Entry >

We should have set off from France two days ago but the weather has been so bad that we have been stuck here. They even took many of the sailing boats off the Channel yesterday. I was not aware of just how difficult the weather could be and this is proving a real problem for us. I should have known better than to expect good weather over the Henley Weekend! Rowed up and down the Thames yesterday for a few miles but and did some more tests on the bath but all in all I feel more frustrated than a mating weasle at not being able to get on with this.

We have still got the sea trail to fit in as the weather has even been too bad for that. We hope to be able to get on the sea on Monday (5th), which is my support boat skipper's birthday (I'd better remember a card) and have our fingers crossed for a weather window on Tuesday but it's not looking great.

It's frustrating having to sit here and wait for something you can't control to happen but that I'm afraid is the situation at the moment.
